If anyone saw the (State Of The Union Address) by the (President Of The United States) last night, they might understand what SOTUA and POTUS stand for. However if you didn’t see the SOTUA by the POTUS then let me fill you in on a few of the highlights.
1. There were no highlights other than Obama intends to go over the heads of Congress on every issue he can. Congress is no longer needed according to the POTUS.
2. The economy is still in bad shape. Since the POTUS has been in office he says he created 8 million new jobs. He didn’t mention he lost 20 million existing jobs, and those jobs he did create were all
service sector jobs paying minimum wage. He didn’t say that one in four American children live in poverty and are without health insurance. Over 50 million Americans must collect Food Stamps just to afford food for their families, and there are still millions of foreclosures and millions of people becoming homeless in America.
3. He wants to raise the minimum wage for workers of Federal Contracts. Unless those contracts are overseas sweat shops, most U.S Federal Contract workers are already paid well over the proposed minimum of $10.10 per hour.
4. He wants women to be paid as much as men. I thought this was a done deal. Millions of American women get paid more than men. All unionized positions pay the same for women and men doing the same jobs.
5. He says he loves the military and wants to help them. He didn’t say that over one third of all military families are collecting Food Stamps, and medical services for military families have been reduced. Nor did he mention that almost all sexual assaults on women in the military go unreported or dismissed by both male and female superiors. He did say he was pulling troops out of Afghanistan by the end of 2014, but he didn’t mention that the U.S military is now in over 63 other conflicts around the world, and is continually and needlessly putting its military personnel in harms way; through bad policy, bad leaders and Congressional corruption and sequesters.
The POTUS didn’t say anything of substance in his SOTUA, other than “Good evening my Fellow Americans” and “God Bless America.” These are the opening and closing statements of almost every SOTUA ever given by a POTUS. POTUS Barack H.Obama’s SOTUA was as inept and evasive as George W. Bush’s SOTUAs ever were.
