The Hysterical Story of Connecticut’s Secretary of State Susan Bysiewicz

THE HYSTERICAL STORY OF CONNECTICUT’S SECRETARY OF STATE, SUSAN BYSIEWICZ
5/23/10

This is the kind of political story that would seem too hard to believe if it were not the truth. The silliest, most incredibly incompetent thing that any candidate for high political office has ever done was accomplished by the Right Honorable Susan Bysiewicz , Secretary of State of Connecticut. Her incompetence was seen by the world and state back in 2003 when she and Chris Dodd under the HAVA act, which was provided to clean up the election process in the U.S, did more to undermine the legitimacy of the vote than any other act in U.S History, by allowing the use of electronic voting machines. It was well known by all Secretary of State Offices around the country that e voting machines were unreliable and impossible to verify without a paper ballot or paper trail. So in her amazing stupidity as the acting Secretary of State of Connecticut she authorized the purchase and use of Diebold electronic voting machines to be used in the upcoming 2004 national and statewide elections. Diebold was already under investigation for rigging their machines to cancel out votes for Democratic Candidates, and our Democratic Genius of State still bought the e voting machines which do not use paper ballots or have a paper trail. I called her actions stupid and incompetent on my radio show at the time and continued to blast her inept leadership since then. She was condemned by the state and national media for her incompetent decision and stated she had been advised by none other than Connecticut’s illustrious senator Chris Dodd (the Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee during the recent banking collapse), who was a co sponsor of the HAVA bill. This proved to all who paid attention that Dodd was a complete idiot and that Bysiewicz was an even greater fool to follow his advice. It doesn’t take a genius to know that it is not a good idea to buy millions of dollars of voting machines from a company known for creating faulty voting machines, and to invest taxpayer dollars to do so without any means to validate the outcome of the voting process. This alone validates her incompetence.

Since then she has had an even poorer and lack luster career. She once suggested that she might run for Governor in 2006 or 2010, but all who knew her knew very well she was incapable of managing a state, when she couldn’t manage her own office. Her early claim to Democratic fame was her college written biography of former Governor Ella Grasso, a beloved Democratic governor of Connecticut during the 1970s. Under Bysiewicz’s leadership Connecticut has lost more jobs and industries than at any other time in our state history, other than the Great Depression. How a Democratic Secretary of State could be elected and reelected under two corrupt Republican Governors tells volumes about the bipolar Connecticut voter. As of this week the Connecticut Courts declared that Susan Bysiewicz is unqualified to run as Attorney General as a replacement for Richard Blumenthal. After spending heavily on her campaign, devoting countless hours of her staff and herself doing news conferences talking up her run for office, she forgot one basic thing. She wasn’t qualified for the office under state statutes. To qualify for Atty General in Connecticut you must have been a practicing lawyer for at least 10 years. Susan Bysiewicz practiced law for a very short while. One would think before she announced her candidacy for Attorney General she or a staff member would have checked first to see if she qualified. She challenged the rule, and won briefly, until the Republicans challenged the ruling and it was repealed by the higher court. Her political career is ruined, she will not run again for Secretary of State, nor will she be able to practice law without any experience as a lawyer, unless some firm hirers her for a political favor they owe her, or she may become a Connecticut lobbyist for an E voting company. I hope she has a few options to pursue, after serving (poorly) so many years in public office. However, those options may not last long, now that potential employers learn how dangerously incompetent she really is.
