I NEVER KNEW YOUR NAME (A POEM)

DSC00556

I Never Knew Your Name      (written in 1996)

I met you in the silence

as we spoke in whispers

wondering our next reply.

The unearthed medallion

showed its magic as

your vision appeared.

You were the wonder

in my trance like stare

of hallucinogenic love.

Seldom in the moments we love

do the bonds form so suddenly,

and the mad rush to reason arrives.

You were the answer to my question,

the lesser goddess

of mortal hope.

Remember me to the ancient ones,

when you go there.

I never knew your name.
