The Latest Dannel Malloy Tom Foley Debate for Governor of Connecticut 11/2/14

DSC01135

As a Connecticut resident and an Independent voter, I was impressed with Governor Dannel Malloy in this morning’s most recent televised debate against challenger Tom Foley. Foley was thrown off balance by Malloy’s first hard hitting verbal punch, and never recovered his balance. Malloy fairly and squarely defeated Foley and took every punch Foley had with a smile and a swift and direct come back, that shattered all of Foley’s public pretensions as a viable candidate for Governor.

Most of my national and international  readers may have no idea who these two candidates for Connecticut Governor are, however for Connecticut residents, and there are approximately three million of us, the election on 11/4/14 is one of the most important elections we have ever had in the state of Connecticut.  It is Democrats against Republicans , political left against the political right, but seldom have two candidates for Governor ever been so polarized, and neither have Connecticut Voters. Current polls show Dannel Malloy and Tom Foley tied with voters at 43% each, with 7% supporting a Tea Party candidate named Joe Visconti and 6% of voters still undecided.

The reason this election is so important in Connecticut, as are the elections in other states, is because the Republican philosophy is to pander to big business and to “Slash and Burn” the current U.S social safety system by privatizing or eliminating all social programs including Medicare and Social Security, and end all or most health and financial aid for poor and middle class Americans, senior citizens, the military and especially the poor. The Republican true agenda of social destruction is always disguised by their political mantra of “Cut Taxes”. For some reason it has always worked for them in elections, but always creates failure for the American people and the American government.

Republican policies under George W Bush and G.H.W Bush as well as Ronald Reagan, nearly destroyed the U.S economy and the world economy. Reagan’s domestic policies caused over 3 million Americans to become homeless and untold millions of foreclosures and lost jobs, with interest rates on home mortgages as high as 21% , which plummeted the U.S into a massive recession that lasted a decade. The failed Republican policies of Ronald Reagan, G.W and G.H.W Bush caused three major wars and the world’s greatest recession, millions of American foreclosures and hundreds of thousands of dead and injured U.S military men and women, millions of deaths and displacement of Iraqis and Afghani people, and countless injuries and the destruction of entire countries.  Also under the Republican Administration of G.W.Bush  the first world court indictment for war crimes was charged against a standing U.S President and members of his administration.

Democrats have not held up their responsibilities with the U.S people either as being the socially conscious and compassionate political party that defends  the welfare, health, public education and justice for all Americans. The current U.S political process is corrupted by corporate money influences on all political party candidates, but when any elected official proves their independent leadership, courage and support for the well being of their constituents in spite of the corporate money and political party pressures, that elected official is worthy of my respect and vote.

Dannel Malloy’s record of leadership as Connecticut’s Governor for the last four years is proof enough for me to endorse him and to encourage other Independent and Undecided Connecticut Voters to give Dannel Malloy another term in office. This election will be decided by the Independent and Undecided Voter. Tom Foley has no viable or believable vision, nor does he have any proven ability to lead this state to prosperity. His entire career in business was one of a “corporate vulture” a person who makes millions of dollars personally, by selling out workers and communities and bankrupting companies for his own personal gain. His “policies” for the state of Connecticut are virtually the same as his business plan for the sell out  and destruction of viable companies.  He owns a 10 million dollar mansion, a 5 million dollar yacht registered in another country, and paid no state or federal income taxes for the last three years and will not release his tax returns, which is a violation of federal and state election laws. Tom Foley is obviously hiding his deception, wealth and corruption from the Connecticut Voter.

The Connecticut Voter should have no reservations for voting for Dannel Malloy and against Tom Foley based on their obvious career  track records and based on the real success of  Dannel Malloy’s current administration.  Anyone who prefers the failed policies and corrupt Republican leadership of Connecticut’s past Republican Governors are blinded by their own biases and ignorance of Dannel Malloy’s record as Governor. They are willing to elect Tom Foley, who has proved himself to be a corrupt candidate, and is endorsed by one of the worst Governors in the U.S, New Jersey Republican Governor Chris Cristie. Tom Foley has financially supported every Connecticut Republican Gubernatorial candidate including the twice arrested and convicted John Rowland,  who is currently awaiting sentencing.  Tom Foley is a fraud and a longtime supporter of the failed Republican policies that nearly destroyed Connecticut.

Dannel Malloy saved the state from Republican ruin, by his courage, foresight and clear vision for the future. The election of Tom Foley for Governor would be a true nightmare for the people of Connecticut.
