5/6/13
It is my birthday today and I am taking advantage of it. I decided to
completely enjoy this day like no other birthday I have ever had. That seems like a tall order to fill, but not really when you consider most of my birthdays have been rather average with nothing great to shout about. But today the sun is shining, it is a beautiful spring day with all my tulips in full bloom and my pink crab apple tree in full bloom, and my honeysuckle plant filling the breeze with its lush fragrance. It is such an inspiring day with a blue cloudless sky and a warm, bright and gentle sun. It is just the kind of day to sit on my patio and soak up the sun and sounds of birds and the quiet of my neighborhood on a Monday morning.
If a man can be happy celebrating his birthday today, that man is me. It is obvious to any astrologer that I am a Taurus. I feel like Ferdinand the Bull today, mesmerized by the beauty of his natural surroundings, admiring the May flowers, and dozing in the sunlight of a mellow afternoon. I decided this morning that I would not allow any stress in my life today. I would accept no phone calls, sleep as long as I wanted to, and soak up all the natural beauty around me. As I sit in the shade of my patio umbrella and listen to the birds singing to each other, and the flowers and new leaves on the trees dancing in the breeze, in the warm spring temperature of 72 degrees, I feel renewed
with life, charged with earth energy and dazzled by the mystical beauty around me. I am fortunate and blessed, that I have such a place to privately enjoy my birthday in this way.
Today I do not want to listen to any news, or televison or radio. Today I do not want to talk to anyone who isn’t pleasant, or isn’t wishing me a happy birthday. Today is my day, everyone has their own day and it is either a good day or bad day, depending on how they decide to spend it. I decided that I have spent thousands of days unhappy and will probably spend thousands more unhappy, but I insist that I will not spend today unhappy. So I smile to all and wish them a good day too, and say Happy Birthday to me, and may I have many more.
