2002 Memorial Day Parade in Salisbury, Connecticut (video)

This program is a tribute to the citizens of Salisbury,Ct., who displayed the patriotism of their Revolutionary community , celebrating Memorial Day, May 27, 2002. This was the first Memorial Day after the 911 attack on the WTC in 2001. One of the veterans we interviewed had just returned from Afghanistan.

Citizens of Salisbury, Ct. take their town history seriously as one of the most important towns in the colonies during the American Revolutionary War. Its forges produced the majority of canon balls and canons used by the Revolutionary Army. The Salisbury Association was created over 100 years ago to preserve the history of the area, and to create a conservation program to preserve the natural surrounding of the township, creating one of the most scenic areas in Connecticut.
