THE NEW STAR WARS MOVIE “THE FORCE AWAKENS” BLOWS

the new star wars blowsThe major hype over the latest Star Wars movie, could only be created by bought and paid for critics in the news media and television networks. I saw the 3 D version, which was a serious disappointment. The 3 D special effects were better at Disney World in the 1980s. Other than the premiere hype there was nothing spectacular or different about the movie, other than the poor writing and characters, and the gory death of Han Solo by his son. To my surprise  Princess Leia and Hans Solo had a son, who was seduced by the Dark Side and became Darth Vader Jr. (It made no sense to me either)  Yes, I’m not kidding , this was one of the worst movies I’ve seen in many years. George Lucas to his credit didn’t write any of this movie, though it was based on his original characters. I think he decided to give up the ghost and sell all right to the Star Wars serial to Disney for a reported 4 billion dollars. The script and film direction for this new Star Wars Movie were failures. Everything in the “new” Star Wars Movie were mothballed  costumes and characters  and a script resurrected from the 1970s. Even the technology used by the characters hadn’t changed. This movie was 40 years newer than the first Star Wars and yet all of their weapons and rocket ships and fighter jets hadn’t changed since the original movie in 1976.

The main character of the movie was a young girl, named Rey, played by Daisy Ridley. She resembled the girl and her character in the Hunger Games Series, with spear and bow and arrow. She was a desert scavenger in a desert community dominated by ugly English speaking creatures from whatever planet she lived on. By the way, I must mention the “Republic” and whatever planet they lived on, got torched by the big bad ass Evil Forces. They had a Sun Ray World Destroying Machine, that was destroyed by six Resistance pilots in 40 year old jet fighters, with the help of the Scavenger / Hunger Games Girl, who presumably was a trained astronaut with a PHD in advance physics, and rocket ship and Death Star design. She and Han Solo, Hairy Chewbaca and a new character, a renegade storm trooper named Finn defeated the EVIL FORCES and saved the Resistance planet. It was absolutely ridiculous and absurd how six  Rebel pilots in antique Jet fighters blew up the Death Star and destroyed all the evil forces in the world. It appears by the end of the show that only a handful of people are left on the Rebel planet, while presumably millions of Evil Force People  were destroyed in a big bang explosion of their Death Star.

I kept my 3 D glasses on though out the movie, but honestly the effects were so boring it barely made a difference to the quality or content of the movie. All in all this final installment in the Star Wars Series sucks.  It’s time to hang up your Star Wars Costumes and put away your Star Wars memorabilia, and realize the Star War World as you knew it doesn’t exist anymore. Half of the audience I sat with, were over 50 years old  (including myself) and the other half were under 16 years old. At the end of the movie four or five middle aged adults applauded, until they noticed everyone else remained quiet, and those under 16 said nothing at all, as if they were completely disappointed with the movie, but afraid to tell their parents sitting next to them, who had blown $11.00 a ticket for each family member, and another $30.00 or more for popcorn and soda pop.
